Abstract:

In reaction to the challenges of the 21st century that include climate change, the exceptional exhaustion of natural resources, the United Nations agreed on 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 that call upon different actors of the society to contribute in achieving sustainable development. This research paper aims (1) to study the role of National Institute for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, (2) to research upon the framework of SDGs globally as well as in India, (3) to analyse the status or progress of SDGs in India and the steps taken to engage in sustainable development and (4) to conduct mapping of SDGs at all levels with questions provided by the client so as to put up this mapping in a dashboard format which would give an idea to the client about the number of SDGs they are achieving. Another important aim is also to research about what localization of SDGs mean. The results and findings should be of great interest for clients who are impavt investors and also what steps can be taken for the localization of SDGs.
