A pilot project in response to the requirement of energy access is made. This was achieved by doing study on energy access considering different parameters with different approaches. So, the different parameters are: Social, Technical, Economical, Environmental, Policy (Institutional) and the different approaches are: Electricity, Cooking Fuel, Drinking Water and Irrigation Water. For that a lot of surveys were conducted, to understand how an energy access project basically works and how can the successful projects be replicated in different regions with necessary implementing factors using STEEP Model. For the first phase (First two months), survey started with visits to those energy access projects which are in existence for a year or so in Konkan Region of Maharashtra to understand and collect data regarding the working conditions of the projects. Second phase (Next two months), visit was done in Tripura to understand the accessibility of energy in the state focusing on Longthorai Valley, Dholai and Killa Forest, Gomati. The visit comprised of:
Step I: Survey to the remotest locations to understand the status of energy accessibility and figure out what energy access approach needs to be established. It was found that the Energy Access for Drinking Water is the urgent requirement.
Step II: Getting in touch with the Government Authorities of the Dept. of Drinking Water and Sanitation, to understand the implementation of different State and Central Government Schemes. Also, collection of data from different departments with respect to the type of requirements.
Step III: To figure out which of the visited place would be the most appropriate one for the pilot project and to design the system accordingly.
