Road crashes are becoming the major cause of injuries among the children below 18 year of age. (MoRTH, 2016) As, children cognitive skills are not fully developed at such a young age that leads to increase the risk among the children; the lesser the age the more it is at risk. In rural areas, children have to travel along the highway to reach the school which makes the condition worst for the rural children.
So, to decrease the risk for children in the rural areas; the project aims to reduce the risk of road accidents while travelling to school. To achieve the aim the author builds a framework of data collection i.e. quantitative and quantitative. To achieve the quantitative data, survey interview was done among the students and parents as they are the consumers and their perspective is the main concern for the study then qualitative data has been achieved with discussion with school staff member as they are the second most priority of the project and they are educated and know the place and students more than anyone else. At last, observation of highway road outside the school was done and road auditing was done to observe the risk attached to the road.
The study as a result recommends soft and hard interventions; soft are those which can be achieved by little efforts of school authorities and community without any cost. Hard are those in which, intervention cost and time is attached to it and can be achieved with some initiatives taken by the government.
