Abstract:

The report had focused on the analysis of role of private/corporate sector in climate initiatives with polycentric climate governance approach. This is determined by the identifying the current status of the climate actions in 20 Indian companies which are listed in Bombay Stock exchange. The analyses was done by understanding different type of measure taken by the companies and their partnership structure in and with domestic & international initiatives and organizations. The results showed the highly visible trend for adopting internal activities for energy efficiency measure compared to renewable energy and GHG Mitigation measures. The interlinkages among the initiatives and organization showed an importance of polycentric approach in corporate climate mitigation strategies.
