Abstract:

With the release of the 2018 International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report of Global Warming of 1.5°C, various parties, stakeholders and the United Nations (UN) realized that the current actions taken around the world would not suffice to create sustaining changes that will have a positive impact on the environment. It was the need for efficient and enhanced climate action that initiated various initiatives including the Lima-Paris Action Agenda (LPAA), the Paris Agreement (PA), the Talanoa Dialogue (TD), Marrakech Partnership (MP) and so on. The paper examines these initiatives and how their proper implementation could help developing countries in their growth. The need for transparency is highly required for the growth of developing countries and the paper discusses the barriers and how to overcome this. The paper also talks of how to overcome barriers in each thematic area. The paper solely focuses on how each initiative in their multi-level and multi-policy will increase climate action and climate ambition in developing countries.

Keywords: Global climate initiatives, climate action, climate ambition, developing countries, Paris Agreement, Fashion charter.
