Abstract:

In nature, every material has nanoscale dimension followed by a higher structured orientation. There are substances or entities whose at least one dimension lies in nanoscale viz., dust particles, smoke and in biological systems such as proteins, DNA which is 3 nm wide. The study of peculiar properties of matter whose dimensions lie within the nanometer range of scale is known as nanosciences. The branch that deals with the manipulation of particles within the scale of nanometer range using biological systems and subsequent application of their properties is referred as Nanobiotechnology. The particles with nano dimension calibration are known as nanoparticles. The size of silver particles is between 10-100 nm. Despite of showing bactericidal properties, area of study is still under exploration. Here we have synthesized and tested biogenically and chemically synthesized AgNPs for studying their anti-tumor potential. The rationale was to pursue an eco-friendly, easily available and cost effective methodology. Biochemical tests revealed that anti- tumor property of AgNPs is concentration dependent. The obtained results exhibit that AgNPs can prove to be probable substitute for breastcancer therapeutics.
