Abstract: This report is majorly focusing on the Inland container depot (ICD) operation process, due to
the increasing demand in export and import Container rail system it have gain a lot of attention.
In last many decades containers movement by rails has been playing the important role in export
and import of cargo from outside the India and within the India. Due to the globalization,
deregulation and increase in logistics containerization have given a new restructured image to
ICD, Ports and Shipping industry. ICD companies have faced many challenges to redefine their
well-designed role in the value chain for the betterment of customer and focusing on the growth
of the company. Due to the high competition within the companies the market of railway
container transportation business companies are actively trying to disturb the position rather
than domain it. In this paper I will be discussing India Infrastructure and logistics private
limited (IndiaLinx) operation process which is happening daily. The main objective of doing this
to identifying the ICD operation process in the context of Railway container transportation to
identify how operation department enhance the responsibility for successful result and another is
to understand why customers choose rail transportation services. For getting and collection the
information I was engaged in the operation department at ACTL ICD Ballabhgarh Faridabad.
This study will be providing deep understand insight that result how operation process done by
container train operator (CTO).
