Marketing a unique solar DC solution

Abstract: The main purpose of the project is to do understand the potential of and promote Solar DC Equipment of the company by designing marketing material, conducting product survey and working on increasing the channel partners for the company. Cygni’s iconic controller powers the DC appliances unlike others that power AC appliances. Solar DC has numerous advantages when compared to the conventional Solar AC. Using Solar DC, huge conversion losses can be avoided by directly supplying the DC output of the solar panels to the Appliances. In Solar AC, however, the DC output of the panels is converted into AC and is then again converted back to DC to power the appliances. These multiple conversions lead to large amount of conversion losses which in turn reduce the efficiency of the entire solar equipment. This will enable the user to save considerably on the energy consumption directly reducing the cost of ownership of the equipment. Also, since Solar DC is relatively new concept, it has some serious limitations when it comes to applicability. For example, today most of the appliances run on AC power, there are very few Appliances in the market that run on DC power. Although, the Company is trying to develop a range of products that run on DC power, so far it could only launch a handful of products that run on DC power, such as LED tube lights, BLDC fans. This is a serious limitation when promoting the equipment to the clients because one cannot expect the user to run half of the equipment on AC and the other half on DC. But, according to the initial research, several vendors are launching more and more DC appliances into the market at a good pace, the company can very easily procure the DC appliances form these vendors at reasonable prices. Considering these factors, the project will focus on designing the Brochures and other material for the company so that, the advantage of the Company’s DC equipment can be easily taken to the customer. Also, the project involves conducting a survey with the existing customer to understand the performance of the product and provide inputs to an upcoming product launch.
