Abstract: The Evolution of the Indian leather Industries over the years and its restructuring due to international standards to be followed for Trade for which environmental compliance has to be made. The Trade liberalization of the Indian market has led to infusion of Foreign Capital into many sectors including leather industry which led to the apprehension of the environmental degradation due to more trade. So, we will first look into the relationship of trade liberation on environment.
The Role of Judiciary which has passed some landmark judgement related to leather tanning industry so my purpose was to see how after these judgement Government of different states has made reforms which led to the structural adjustment in the Leather Industry.
And also, how leather industry is coming up with innovation and introducing environmental friendly technology to comply with international and domestic standards.
