Abstract: PPPs are those contracts that are specifically made to build, prepare and deliver public assets, facilities and services. Therefore PPP are agreements between the government and some of the major private entities to build public infrastructures like roads, public facilities and various other such utilities which can enhance the life of general public within the country. This paper aims at analyzing the role of various PPP agreements in road and highways sector of India and how various authorities like NHAI has played a major role in bringing into force more such PPP contract so as to ensure that not only the risk of these projects is divided between the government and the private firms but also that higher success rate could be reached with faster government assenstions to the project and more efficient and quality work done by private entities part of the contract. This paper will also provide for the findings that I have come across while conducting the research. Last but not the least I will also be stating some major suggestions that shall be incorporated by the government in making more and more PPP contract projects successful within India through better policy implementation and dispute resolution along with various other measures.
