Abstract: INDIA is the second largest domestic consumer of LPG and has huge potential for installing biogas
plants. But due to high capital cost and lack of awareness, their use is scarcely recognized. This report
compares different types of small scale biogas digesters with special emphasis on the financial
evaluation of balloon gas digesters. Economic analysis of Deenabandhu biogas digester and balloon
digester is performed and balloon digester is found to have greater IRR (51.53% as compared to 22%)
and NPV.
