Abstract: This report gives the information on Feasibility study of the project related to decentralize waste
management system (DWMS) and biomethanation technology. This is an attempt to improve the
dairy waste management system. It has been observed in Delhi that there are various authorized
and unauthorized dairy farms which generate large quantity of wastewater and solid waste. This
activity is considered to be one of the main non-point sources of water pollution. There are many
authorized clusters of dairy farms in Delhi, which are located on the outskirts. Out of all one of the
main and larger cluster is in Ghazipur. The dairy farm activities in Ghazipur and Gharoli raised
many serious issues like sanitation and health (WASH) and discharge and disposal or cow dung.
We all know that cow dung has great multiple benefits.
The project will have capacity to generate green electricity and organic manure as a byproduct
from 100 tons per day dairy waste. The cattle dung based biogas technology will improve all the
issues that are mentioned above. The success of this project will improve sanitation in and around
the dairy farms, clean energy generation, bio-fertilizer and reduction in greenhouse effect. The
main goal of the present project is to utilize dairy waste generated in Shadhara South Zone of
Ghazipur and Gharoli which lead to prevention of discharge of waste to the Yamuna Rive under
Yamuna Action Plan. The proposed project will set up under EDMC with public private
partnership with non-profit organization.
Key words- Decentralized waste management system, biomethanation plant, EDMC, Yamuna
Action Plan, dairy farm and dairy waste discharge.
