Abstract: Majority of the construction industry is dangerous and vulnerable section in India
owing to many risk factors. As the construction sector is much in demand after
agriculture sector so growing day by day, as many farm laborers are migrating to
urban belt and joining the Construction Sector as unskilled labors due to paucity of
poor income and uncertainty in the agriculture sector. This informal sector has huge
influx of migrant workers from remote location and is being hired without much
knowledge of the construction sector where so many complexity and intricacies
exist. Even at many sites they are forced to work in inhabitable conditions without
basic amenities due to which many incidents occur related to health and results in
severe conditions of the workers.
This study focus on the health, safety and environment aspects in High-rise
construction industry.Further various fatalities trends has been discussed at
International and national level to know the status of occupational health and
safety. The aim of the study is to assess the safety health and environment aspects of
high rise building at site level by comparing the other contractor activity at same scale based
on environmental , safety and health management practices followed by investigating the best
practices followed by field survey and exploring the major key issues at site level.
