Abstract: This study focuses on the financial part of the PMAY project. It explains how to design houses, what actual numbers are to be designed for, the ratio of the the EWS:LIG:MIG that will be feasible to construct on the given land and in the end it should be financial viable also. So, keeping all these elements the study has been done and solution for this study has been inculcated.
The report is broadly divided in to two parts Part A and Part B. Part A covers the design evolution of the EWS unit and the infrastructure services provided on site to the slum dwellers and the urban poor. And in the second Part B covers the financial way out that can be applicable to similar Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) projects of Madhya Pradesh So in the first part a summary of different work done the internship is showcased and in the second part the research work is done to reduce the burden on LIG and MIG due to the cross subsidy factor.
After completing this work, it will benefit to the next phase of projects i.e. Phase II of then PMAY that will be enforced from April 2017 to March 2019. This will give a good perspective to how to calculate and manage the finances of the PMAY projects.
