Abstract: My internship mainly involved working on a 99.23 kWp rooftop solar project that was being installed at Vatika Business Park, Gurgaon. I was not involved in designing as the design work was completed before I joined the organisation. I was mainly involved in overseeing installation work on site. I had overseen complete construction of PCC foundation blocks on site, proper curing, precise measurements, material reception, material loading on site rooftop, overseeing safety measures for workers and proper implementation of timeline. After curing for one week, the assembly of structures had begun in proper accordance with the design. The module installation was done in March, and the project was commissioned in April. After commissioning, some minor work was going on that included installation of wind shields, setting up of String monitoring unit (SMU) and obtaining various certificates (like RECs) from the relevant authority like the Chief Electrical Inspector to Government (C.E.I.G.), and MNRE
Apart from the aforementioned, I was also involved in various site visits to prepare pre-feasibility report of possible solar PV projects. I visited Bhopal, Indore and Kota in April.
My internship also involved the study and preparation of Tender documents for bidding of various solar projects. It included study of Request for Qualification (RFQ) documents, detailed understanding of the project requirements and filing of necessary documents accordingly.
