Abstract: I read with interest the recent publication by Sequeira et al. [1] about the genetic affinities of the Dravidian-speaking Koraga tribe in India. However, I would like to point out that their statement on page 8 that “The arrival of Indo-European (IE) languages in the Indian subcontinent occurred no earlier than the 2nd millennium BC” is certainly received wisdom, but precisely that. It is, unfortunately, based on a retracted conjecture that has congealed
into accepted fact over more than a century.
