Abstract: The National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC), under the Jawaharlal Nehru National
Solar Mission (JNNSM), announced by the Government of India aims to promote the development
and use of solar energy with the ultimate objective of making solar competitive with fossil-based
energy options. The recent announcement of raising of targets for Solar to 100 GW and overcoming
the policy paralysis in the Indian solar market, inclusion of various fiscal and policy instruments
have attracted a large number of investors and developers towards the sector.
Sindicatum Sustainable Resources (a cleantech power developer) with a target of 2000 MW of
cleantech installations and a commitment of 1000 MW of Solar made in the RE-Invest summit has
assessed the growth in the sector and has planned to venture into the Indian solar space.
This report deals with various components of pre-construction phase of a solar power project
development (Business Development) both for acquisition of an existing PV plant and for a new
project. For both the cases above mentioned simulations using PVsyst software were performed
and the CUF and PR was analysed from investment point of view. Apart from that repowering
analysis was performed for a prospective acquisition using Microsot Excel based modelling. The
GoI has planned to execute the Solar Park concept, and the RfS document released during the
project timeline were analysed and internal reports were formulated in order to understand if it is
viable for SSR to venture into those bids. Also, the same exercise was done for the RfS released by
the state of Telangana. These exercises helped in putting forward a proposal in front of the senior
management for their approval. Hands-on practice/creating of a Financial Model (Excel based)
was also carried out, which is still being updated.
