Tezpur University plans to develop its campus as a green campus, under the aforesaid MNRE The programme and aims to reduce 25% fossil fuel based energy within next 5 years through renewable energy and energy efficiency measures. GSES India Sustainable Energy Pvt. Ltd was assigned to prepare a master plan and detailed project reports to develop Tezpur University Campus as a “Green Campus”. The objective of developing Tezpur University Campus into a “Solar Campus” is to understand and assess carbon footprint of the university campus as a whole and prepare an action plan to implement renewable energy and energy efficiency projects to achieve a targeted goal to reduce conventional energy consumption and thereby reduce GHG emission in the campus. Based on data collected from and provided by the university, a detailed analysis on the energy consumption including electricity, diesel and LPG was undertaken. Further a report has been prepared identifying energy efficiency potential and renewable energy potential to reduce conventional energy consumption and thereby reduce GHG emission in the campus.
