Abstract: PART A Development of a performance evaluation tool for linear Fresnel system
Linear Fresnel reflectors are an emerging solar thermal collector system. In order to
understand the system designing based on LFR, the performance of the system at various
locations and various orientations is essential. This Study deals with development of a
performance evaluation tool for a particular LFR system but can be extended to other
systems as well. Optical efficiency is determined and is compared with the IAM .LFR and
PTC is compared and the findings are listed.
PART B Innovative method to determine true north
A new methodology to determine true geographic north is developed and is found to be less
time consuming and more accurate compared to the methodology developed by scheffler.
