Abstract: When Corporate Social Responsibility converges with law, the premise of the morality on which the concept is based gets defeated making it seem like just another cost obligation. The rationale behind this compulsive responsibility expects to drive the stakeholders towards deliberate compliance.

Industries have lately manifested concern for demonstrating their responsibilities, not in sync with their profit chains. The footprint has gained significant importance over the past decade and initiatives towards goodwill are visible. The non-tangible qualitative aspects of industrial methods are now critically examined leading to a new race towards ‘Intelligent Philanthropy’ and innovative reporting practices adding to the corporate paraphernalia. Corporate Social Responsibility is by itself another industry in the making that could have critical facets with extreme implications due to the lack of tangibility realized with respect to CSR motivation & impact for any corporate entity. The degree of ingenuity though, can only be inferred over the years.

The expenses thus borne by industries towards this calculated philanthropy are monitored by the respective governors seeking justification in areas of CSR interventions where public funds or resources are also utilised. This information based on several case-studies shall provide directed inference to the policy makers in order to regulate the industry practices towards corporate responsibility and create substantial avenues for trustworthy initiatives in the future.

The nature of study is kept descriptive and qualitative in nature pertaining to the subjectivity involved in the topic.
