Abstract: With the increasing number of Sustainability practices being adopted by various companies, the role of capacity building is becoming even more important. Capacity Building is being seen as a tool of Social Compliance, a concept that is considered a very important phenomenon in today’s world.

Capacity Building initiatives are being introduced by various organizations. Organizations such as ILO, IFC, and other UN agencies etc. have undertaken projects to help the people who are at the bottom of the pyramid. Various training programs have been formulated on various topics such as Overtime, Wages and Benefits and other HR modules.

CRB as an organization is involved with imparting capacity building, with a huge focus on the apparel sector. Thus the aim of this is project to compare and analyze three capacity building initiatives, Better Work by ILO and IFC, REAP by UNIDO and Score by ILO to find out the work that has already been done and also take into account all steps that are missing.

So, the three programs have been compared on the basis of a few parameters such as objective, methodology, module, and assessment. After studying each of these modules, the challenges faced in their implementation process are outlined and, a few observations have been made. Along with the observations, necessary steps to be taken have also been mentioned. As CRB is involved in imparting capacity building in the garment sector, which is mainly a labour intensive industry, it is important for the organization to know various other programs that have been undertaken by international organization in the other labour intensive industries, especially based in the developing countries. Therefore, CRB can build upon the processes, which have been already been used by organizations like ILO, IFC and UNIDO.
