Dr Sapan Thapar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy and Environment at the TERI School of Advanced Studies. He teaches courses related to Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, besides working as the coordinator for the Distance Education Programme on Renewable Energy.
Dr Thapar is a BEE-certified Energy Manager and has completed his doctoral research on Renewable Energy Policy and Determinants from the Department of Management Studies at IIT Delhi, with a M.Tech in Energy Management from the same institute. In the past, he has been associated with IREDA, where he was responsible for credit appraisal of numerous clean energy business proposals, besides contributing to key policies on the power sector. Prior to that, he had a long stint with the Tata Consultancy Services in its Energy & Utilities division.
