In order to meet the growing energy needs, the Indian power sector is witnessing significant activity, backed by the country's industrial and infrastructure growth, and increased production activities. There is a steady rise in demand for energy capacity to maintain lifestyles with modernization. Moving towards green and clean energy sources is at the forefront for India to meet the rising power demand while remaining committed to sustainability, human health and environment. India has one of the world's biggest and most aggressive renewable capacity expansion goal. While India is considered to be a developing country, however it is developing at a rate that many others do not equal.
The present study is aimed at analyzing the impact of trade conflicts on Renewable energy in context of evolving global geo-political situation and its significance for India. The aim of this research to find and suggest how India can adapt its policy such as foreign policy, renewable energy policy, trade policy and related legal regime to mitigate the threats and to make the most of the said opportunities. However, due to paucity of time for such holistic study, the suggestion can be later narrowed down to only one or two of the aforementioned policy and legal spheres.
