It is easy to lose yourself in the endless demands of everyday life, but a moment spent rooted in stillness can end up making your experiences profound and thought-provoking.
Over the years, people have cultivated many such art forms that eventually gave birth to our rich culture today - From dance forms like Bharatnatyam and Kathak to Indian classical music like Hindustani classical music and Carnatic music to other traditional and locally available intricate handicrafts like Meenakari, Phulkari, and Pashmina fabrics to name a few.
Join us at our SPIC MACAY ‘Heritage Club’ to be a part of this wondrous journey that will take you through an incredible array of such art forms and traditions! Our ‘Heritage Club’ at TERI School Of Advanced Studies, formed enthusiastically by the students of this institution, is dedicated to being a part of this journey and hopes to contribute towards an enriching student environment. With over fifty volunteers (and counting), we couldn’t be more hopeful for the start of this exciting opportunity that has been given to us. We want to move forward with this infectious energy and see for ourselves the kind of vibrant atmosphere it inculcates.
There will always be a need for help and a dearth of volunteers as we expand, and we welcome every person interested to this new venture.
Inaugural of Spic Macay
TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS), in collaboration with SPIC MACAY, held their first ever dhrupad recital event on campus on 17th December 2022. The immersive and pleasantly interactive dhrupad recital with Ustad Wasifuddin Dagar ji and his team left an impression of indelible calm that gripped us right after it ended. The event was hosted through our Heritage Club here at TERI SAS and was attended by a large audience.
The TERI School of Advanced Studies was honoured to host a mesmerizing Hindustani Classical Vocal Music Recital featuring the renowned artist VIDUSHI KALAPINI KOMKALI, in collaboration with SPIC MACAY, on the 23rd of September.
Kalapini Komkali is widely acclaimed as one of the most exceptional classical vocalists among the younger generation. She proudly carries on the musical legacy as the daughter and disciple of the late legendary Pandit Kumar Gandharva, and she has received invaluable training from her illustrious mother, Vidushi Vasundhara Komkali.
The event drew an enthusiastic audience, including students, faculty, and staff of TERI SAS, and was also open to the wider public, making it a remarkable musical experience for all in attendance.
