Event Overview

The Emerson Centre of Excellence for Sustainability Studies (CoE) is thrilled to announce its thematic track, Building Leadership for Carbon Neutrality in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), at the upcoming World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2025. This year’s summit is scheduled from March 5th -7th, 2025, and will emphasise developing Partnerships for Accelerating Sustainable Development and Climate Solutions, focusing on collaborative, solution-driven approaches to address global sustainability challenges.

Thematic Track Details

Our track will be on March 5th, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM at Juniper Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, as a pre-event discussion. This session will bring together prominent voices from key institutions such as the University Grants Commission, NITI Aayog, leading colleges and universities, think tanks, and other organisations committed to advancing carbon neutrality in the higher education sector.

Objective

The session will explore how HEIs can lead in achieving carbon neutrality, sharing successful strategies and insights, and setting an action-oriented agenda that supports India’s climate neutrality goals of 2070 through educational innovation and sectoral leadership. Join us for this impactful session as we build partnerships that drive sustainable change in higher education!
