Eligibility criteria – M.Sc.

Graduate (B.Sc/B.A) or equivalent from any branch of Engineering, Environmental Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Geology, Atmospheric Science, Economics, Geography, Zoology, Botany, Anthropology, Agricultural Science or 3-years B.Voc in Industrial Waste Management, Soil and Water Conservation, Industrial Chemistry, Industrial Waste Treatment Technology, Sustainable Agriculture

Eligibility criteria – M.Tech.

Graduate or equivalent from any branch of Engineering or Postgraduate or equivalent in Environmental Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Geology, Atmospheric Science, Economics, Geography, Agricultural Science with mathematics at 10+2 level.

Career Prospects M.Sc.

Work in development organizations with inter-disciplinary approach to water management.
Programme prepares the students to take up jobs in diverse sectors such as research, agriculture, forest, watershed management, water auditing, water resources mapping, CSR projects on water etc.
Training in water management tools like, Remote Sensing and GIS, Water Audit and Demand Assessment tools, CROP WAT, Research Methods, Statistics etc. equips the students to take up consultancy assignments with think-tanks.
Develops a strong foundation for taking up higher studies in Water Sustainability.
Join donor agencies and NGOs that are supporting institutions that make water and sanitation available and accessible to underprivileged section of the population.

Career Prospects M.Tech.

Work with industries like beverages, textile, tannery, paper and pulp, sugar and thermal power plants which use water as a raw material for production processes. Most industries are investing in experts who could help them reduce, recycle and reuse the water available to them.
Contribute to water-based institutions such as water treatment plants for treating municipal and industrial wastewater and drinking water, desalination plants and water bottling plants.
With water security being categorized as one of the top five risks to national security, government departments like public health, drinking water and sanitation, water supply and pollution control board etc. are hiring people who could assist them in tackling this issue.

I loved the Goa trip most in year 2015, I got my first exposure to industrial work with coke and found myself lucky, the environment is very free & refreshing to entertain & learning for research. Being an environmental engineer, TERI University was an appropriate choice to prove postgraduation for mainstreaming into water science. TERI SAS (formerly TERI University) programmes, faculty, campus, way of teaching, is a class apart from the other institutions which offer the core courses. The programmes like mine - M.Tech.(Water Science & Governance) has helped me become a ‘social scientist’ along with appropriate knowledge of other linked issues such as water law, water economics, gender and water dimensions and how to use GIS technology in the water planning and management. Apart from the programme perks, faculty is the cherry on the cake, so much cooperative, understanding, patient, knowledgeable and perfect guides. The mode of teaching is extremely interactive and helps you think beyond the core tracks. The field trips are perfect ways for having hands on experience.
