Programme Overview

Emerson Centre for Excellence on Sustainability Studies along with Ekonnect Knowledge Foundation (EKF) is launching the two phase certificate course on Sustainable Packaging for Circular Economy. The first phase of the certificate course will be orientation course and second phase will be advance course. The courses will span for three days in each week.

Advanced Course | Mar 20 - Mar 22, 2024
Global scenario of Packaging wastes management & it's Challenges and Concept of Circular economy.
The policies and regulations pertaining to packaging Waste Management (PWM) and the compliance requirements.
The concept of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in the Indian context towards building a road map for "Environmentally Sound Management of Plastics.
Packaging Waste Recycling: Methods of Collection, Segregation, Treatment, Reuse and Recycling Technology

Learning Objective

Learning objectives of the certificate course is to look at composition of packaging which enhances its reusability and recyclability (preferably back to same product) in line with 3 R (Reduce, Reuse and Recycling) principle of waste hierarchy. The ultimate goal should be to arrive at sustainable packaging solutions to help industry reducing packaging waste which is not collected due to poor recyclability.
