The University invites applications from highly motivated and qualified candidates for the post of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The selected candidate is expected to contribute towards inter-disciplinary teaching, research, curriculum development, and academic administration.
Number of Post: 1 (One) Regular
Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Professor:
i. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed)
ii. National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission
Desirable Qualification for Assistant Professor:
• Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering/Technology or allied areas relevant to Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
• M. Tech./M.Sc. in relevant discipline with strong background in programming, mathematics, statistics, and machine learning.
• Undergraduate degree in Mathematics is desirable.
Eligibility Criteria for Associate Professor:
i. Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
ii. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
iii. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry with a minimum of seven publications in the peer reviewed/UGC listed journals.
iv. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process.

• Deep Learning and Applied AI
• Mathematical and Statistical Modeling
• Python/R/Mathematica and any other relevant data science frameworks
Pay Scale:

A Project Associate I position is opened at TERI SAS for an on-going project titled “A Study on Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and Carbon Market Mechanisms in Selected Asian Countries”, conducted by TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS), New Delhi, supported by GIZ, Germany. The candidate is expected to have advanced knowledge of all forms of carbon markets such as ETSs, VCM and Article 6 market and CBAM mechanism. The candidate will primarily be responsible for carrying out thorough literature mapping around carbon market, collecting information and data on carbon markets (of all forms) from various international and national sources, analyse various countries emission trading schemes (ETS) and Article 6.2 engagements and trained in data coding, data entry and data analysis (both qualitative and quantitative), and is well-versed in report writing, conducting workshops and carrying out other responsibilities as and when required. S/he will also be asked to present the data before the research team after the collection of data and participate in various project meetings. The Project Associate will be asked to contribute to the writing of the reports, publishing articles as and when required.

Duration: The position is for 4 months starting from 1st August to 3rd November 2026, hence upon selection, an immediate joining is required. It is fulltime position and no remote working is allowed.
Essential Qualifications:
• Masters in the field of Economics/Environmental Studies/Public Policy/Sustainable Development Studies/Climate Studies
• Understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods, particularly review of literature/interviews, data coding and data analysis, analysing data using various statistical software
• Prior knowledge and work experience in the field of carbon market
Desirable:
• Prior experience of collecting online interviews, surveys
• Flare of report writing (without using any AI software) and literature review skills as well as data analysis skills
• Prior experience of conducting coordination activities such as workshops, project events and meetings
Emoluments: Salary - INR 30,000/- per month + HRA per month
